For humans this condition is called CRS or ‘Can’t Remember Sh*t’. I just found out that my website has this condition and has not been posting for months. I am not sure what the cause is but I have found a solution.

There is a free plugin that will check and make sure that posts are being made and if it skips a post the plugin will post it for you.

The name is ‘WP Missed Schedule Fix Failed Posts’.

I guess all we need now is a plugin that check this plugin that checks WordPress for ‘missed scheduled posts.

Well, I was going to try and get a proper , regular newsletter going but I am running into trouble from every side.

In case you did not know the site is now past 16,000 subscribers. Host gator only allows like 500 emails an hour, supposedly to anyone you choose, but that is not the case. They are monitoring who you send any email to and collecting the email addresses and if you send to more than 5000 different email addresses they are going to step in and make you upgrade your account to a VPS or Dedicated Server.

If you will take a look at Hostgator ads they advertise ‘unlimited email’ for the accounts they sell you.

Anyway, I have been looking all over the internet for some other way but I have not found one yet. I have a lot of information to share with you guys but if I cannot email it to you I do not see the point as it is a newsletter. I could put it on the forum but where is the fun in that as you are already here anyway, or at least some of you are.

Autoresponders are getting ridiculous in price. For a list my size places like Aweber want $130 a month. You have to realize that sending email is an automated process involving only computer time and maybe a couple of people to answer questions and do some tech work and all the rest is pure profit.

You will be glad to know that there are free alternatives. There are a number of free programs that you can get to make your own mail server at home. These servers work just like an SMTP server and have a lot of the same features of Aweber and can send 20,000 or more emails in an hour on a high speed internet connection. This is high enough for you to have your own email sending business and put the hurt on the big dogs. I am on dial up so this will not work for me. Just search for ‘free email server’. There are a number of free choices.

You can also use places like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. I have been reading that Gmail will cancel your account but I also have read that you can sign up for a business app that will let you do this. As for the other free mail places you will just have to learn what they will let you do. The way I found this out was to do a search for ‘free smtp’.

You can also get free autoresponder accounts to get started. Unfortunately, after the free period you are going to be paying an arm and a leg. The ones that are completely free have all kinds of limits on them and a lot of them will not let you provide your own list. Search for ‘free autoresponder’ and you can get a list to choose from.
